As with any common medical problem, there are many myths about acne, including the causes of acne and the treatment of acne. Here are five of the most common myths about acne.
Myth # 1 – There is nothing you can do to make acne. This is absolutely wrong. Acne outbreaks may be deleted. This does not mean that you are not a new outbreak to a certain point, but that can be elucidated. You can in fact have acne. You can also make changes to prevent future acne breakout.
Myth # 2 – Certain foods, like chocolate and greasy foods cause acne breakout. This is wrong. It was a great deal of research on the impact of food on the acne, and all that research has shown that the food has no effect on acne. However, if you have an allergy to a particular food, this could lead to an outbreak of acne.
Myth # 3 – Acne happens because you do not clean your skin. It does not matter how hard you scrub your face, this has no effect on acne. Acne is not due to dirt or oil. It is caused by bacteria – under the surface of the skin, which is why acne is best treated from the inside out, not outside in.
Myth # 4 – Acne is only cosmetic and not a serious problem. While on the surface, that’s true, it is a fact that acne can leave scars serious, permanently changing the way that man. It may also be a great damage to one’s own self-esteem and self-confidence. That makes it much more than a cosmetic problem.
Myth # 5 – Stress causes acne. This is both true and false. Normal Stress does not cause acne. Recent research has shown that extreme stress can bring on an acne outbreak. But in those cases where this is the case, the person was already prone to acne outbreaks.
These are just the top five acne myths. There are many other myths about acne. Before you buy into any misinformation that is always a point to ask your dermatologist. You can use the Internet for research as well as acne – just make sure that your information from an authority.
